What is Dental Teeth Whitening?

It is a bleaching process that accelerates the discoloration of enamel and dentin. You get to have the white color you once had in your teens.

What can cause discoloration of the teeth?

There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, or tobacco; or the use of medications during the formation of teeth such as tetracycline, certain antibiotics, or excess fluoride.

Who can benefit from Dental Teeth Whitening?

Almost anyone can benefit from tooth whitening. However, the treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. With an oral examination, at Oralcorp® we can determine if you are a candidate for this procedure, including an evaluation of your color.

Is tooth whitening increasingly popular?

Of course! A beautiful and bright smile can make a big difference.

Is tooth whitening safe?

Yes, research and clinical studies indicate that teeth whitening under the supervision of an expert is safe. Many dentists consider bleaching to be the most reliable cosmetic dental procedure available. It is not recommended for children under 17 years of age.

Do the results last a long time?

Following some simple instructions of care after whitening, your teeth will always be whiter than they were before. We recommend flossing, brushing three times a day. And a whitening toothpaste to keep whitening for longer. These are products of professional formulas designed specifically to keep teeth brighter. They are available through our office.

Is there any difference between professional dental whiteners and over-the-counter whitening?

Yes! Oralcorp® is always the first step to whiten your teeth safely. Tooth whitening strips, toothbrush, and dental creams or over-the-counter whitening take weeks or months to whiten your teeth in a few nuances and in most cases no results are produced. Running the risk of irreparably damaging their teeth, as they are products that sometimes do not have studies or the necessary records, destroying both the teeth and the gums irreparably.

How does the Dental Teeth Whitening system work?

The active ingredient of the whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide. As hydrogen peroxide decomposes, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, extracting any colored substance while maintaining the structure of the tooth unchanged.

Are there any side effects?

Some people experience an increase in the temporary dental sensitivity of cold during treatment. These symptoms disappear after 24 hours after the interruption or end of treatment.

How long is the procedure?

The entire procedure lasts just over an hour. The process starts with a preparation period followed by one hour of whitening.

How long does home whitening take?

You can take home a gel that is designed to be placed between two to eight hours of application. In Oralcorp® we will tell you how much time each application should use. A recent study showed that an average improvement of four shades could be achieved after only three nights of use. Oralcorp® will help you determine how many applications are right for you.
