Whitening

Do you prefer whiter teeth after visiting our office or do you prefer to whiten your teeth in a couple of nights while you sleep? Oralcorp ® has your answer. Inside the office, whitening agents are used to clear your teeth in an average of five tones, in little more than an hour, while you relax in our office. It is ideal for anyone who wants immediate results.
Whitening is a non-invasive procedure that improves your teeth. The bleaching results vary according to the structure of the tooth. On average, you can get 2-3 times brighter tones. It is recommended that patients of any age have natural teeth. The whitening result lasts from 2 to 5 years, depending on your diets.

Strips or gels are a waste of time. Get your whitest teeth in a fraction of the time!

What is tooth whitening?

It is a bleaching process that accelerates the discoloration of enamel and dentin. You get to have the white color you once had in your teens.

What can cause discoloration of the teeth?

There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, or tobacco; or the use of medications during the formation of teeth such as tetracycline, certain antibiotics, or excess fluoride.

Who can benefit from tooth whitening?

Almost anyone can benefit from tooth whitening. However, the treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. With an oral examination, at Oralcorp® we can determine if you are a candidate for this procedure, including an evaluation of your color.

Is tooth whitening increasingly popular?

Of course! A beautiful and bright smile can make a big difference.

Is tooth whitening safe?

Yes, research and clinical studies indicate that teeth whitening under the supervision of an expert is safe. Many dentists consider bleaching to be the most reliable cosmetic dental procedure available. It is not recommended for children under 17 years of age.

Do the results last a long time?

Following some simple instructions of care after whitening, your teeth will always be whiter than they were before. We recommend flossing, brushing three times a day. And a whitening toothpaste to keep whitening for longer. These are products of professional formulas designed specifically to keep teeth brighter. They are available through our office.

Is there any difference between professional dental whiteners and over-the-counter whitening?

Yes! Oralcorp® is always the first step to whiten your teeth safely. Tooth whitening strips, toothbrush, and dental creams or over-the-counter whitening take weeks or months to whiten your teeth in a few nuances and in most cases no results are produced. Running the risk of irreparably damaging their teeth, as they are products that sometimes do not have studies or the necessary records, destroying both the teeth and the gums irreparably.

How does the whitening system work?

The active ingredient of the whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide. As hydrogen peroxide decomposes, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, extracting any colored substance while maintaining the structure of the tooth unchanged.

Are there any side effects?

Some people experience an increase in the temporary dental sensitivity of cold during treatment. These symptoms disappear after 24 hours after the interruption or end of treatment.

How long is the procedure?

The entire procedure lasts just over an hour. The process starts with a preparation period followed by one hour of whitening.

How long does home whitening take?

You can take home a gel that is designed to be placed between two to eight hours of application. In Oralcorp® we will tell you how much time each application should use. A recent study showed that an average improvement of four shades could be achieved after only three nights of use. Oralcorp® will help you determine how many applications are right for you.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic sheets that attach directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal option to improve your smile. They have become increasingly popular due to its simplicity and versatility. As a dental cosmetic procedure, dental veneers create a whiter and brighter smile composed of perfectly aligned and contoured teeth. The quality of today’s translucent porcelain veneers offers a more natural look than what has been available to past generations. This allows a smile to look beautiful and natural. Porcelain material is a perfect solution for a demanding aesthetic.

The veneers are minimally invasive restorations, an alternative to whitening, with a permanent result, with the freedom to choose the tone you want. This alternative is recommended in cases where the patient has many composite restorations in the anterior region. In some cases, when the teeth are natural but have a very dark tone, we can use veneers to reproduce the same shapes in the desired color.

Carillas De Porcelana

The placement of personalized veneers requires a high degree of technical skill, as well as attention to cosmetic detail. In Oralcorp ® we routinely place the surfaces and design each case individually to match and improve the smile characteristics of each patient.

Although they are unattractive teeth, veneers can resolve most, if your aesthetic concerns about your smile and teeth cannot be resolved with veneers there are other alternatives, please contact us.

These problems include:

  • Use and wear: Teeth naturally wear with age. Older teeth are more likely to have cracks, splinters, or uneven appearance.
  • Worn enamel: The thin, hard, transparent substance that covers the teeth (enamel) can wear out and discolor over time.
  • Uneven teeth: The uneven length or width of the teeth can result from teeth grinding or general wear.
  • Genetics : Some people may be born with an abnormal appearance of the teeth or gap between the teeth that widens as they get older.
Carillas De Porcelana

Are the veneers going to look like normal teeth?

Ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. Its strength and appearance, its resemblance to healthy white tooth enamel is second to none in other restoration options.

How durable are porcelain veneers?

With proper care, porcelain veneers will clear your smile for more than a decade. Oralcorp ® will ensure that your veneers are made of the highest quality porcelains and are linked with the most advanced and tested materials available.

Refraining from using their veneers as tools to open and cut things will prolong their life, and if accidental breakage or damage occurs, it is usually possible to replace only the veneer involved.

Composite Venners

Composite Venners

Bonding is an alternative to veneers and can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored, or misarranged.

How does it work?

The tooth is prepared for the procedure by lightly etching the surface and applying a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, a plastic resin is applied and sculpted into the desired shape by the dentist. Once set, the resin is trimmed, smoothed, and polished for a natural appearance.

Considerations

The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit and can significantly improve the appearance of a tooth. However, since the plastic resin used is not as strong as your natural tooth enamel, it is more likely to stain, chip, or break than natural teeth. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before need of repair.

Periodontal Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic periodontal procedures are a convenient way to cover unsightly, sensitive or exposed root surfaces and to prevent receding gums in the future. If you are not satisfied with the appearance of short, ugly teeth, this can be significantly improved by a combination of periodontal procedures and cosmetic dentistry in Oralcorp®.

Although the teeth seem short, they can have an adequate length. The teeth can be covered with an excess of tissue from the gums. We can correct this by performing the procedure of periodontal plastic surgery, crown lengthening. During this procedure, the excess of the gums and bone tissue are reformed to expose more of the natural tooth. This can be done to more than one tooth, to equalize the gum line, and to create a beautiful smile.

Another cosmetic procedure is soft tissue grafting. It is used to cover the roots of unattractive teeth, reduce retraction of the gums, and protect the roots from decay and eventual loss.

The loss of teeth causes the bone to be reabsorbed and can lead to a natural depression look at the gums and jaws, and the onset of general aging. The original appearance of your mouth cannot be recaptured by the spaces that lie below and between the replacement teeth. They may appear too long compared to adjacent teeth.

Bone grafts after tooth loss can preserve the socket/ridge and minimize gum retraction and collapse of the bones. There are less shrinkage and more aesthetic teeth replacement, either for an implant crown or fixed bridge around the replacement teeth.

Diseño de Sonrisa

When is a smile design justified?

The problems that justify this procedure are color changes that can not be eliminated with teeth whitening, fractures of teeth due to accidents, wear and tear over the years, bad positions, spaces between teeth, large gums, short teeth.

Which alternatives should be considered before a smile design?

It depends on each case. Sometimes orthodontics is the best treatment because only by straightening the teeth the appearance can be changed. It is a more delayed process, but the results are natural and for a lifetime. Increasing the size of the teeth by cutting the gum and doing a subsequent whitening can be another alternative.

Which are the risks?

Formerly in most cases, the teeth are carved with the dental bur and then add the material that will change the shape and color. Currently, we perform minimally invasive restorations without the need to wear the tooth. These treatments are not for life and require retouching. Ask us; we will be waiting to answer your questions.

How to establish if it is needed?

Our Rehabiliter will make a proper diagnosis with photos, computer design, x-rays, and carpets (mock-up) in which you will enjoy your new smile design before making any irreversible changes. It is crucial that those who complete the procedure are trained and have the technology and materials indicated.
